New York City-based Latvian singer, composer, and arranger Arta Jēkabsone engages listeners with an emotional and honest, adventurous, and joyful expression of music. Her performance at The Jazz Gallery will feature her NYC family, Arta Jēkabsone Quintet, celebrating their friendship and stories and sharing them through music.

"Every now and again something truly new comes around. It’s rare, so when that happens, the experience is truly special. Such an experience is awaiting one’s ears when they experience the artistry which is Arta Jekabsone. Her compositions are rooted in her life’s journey, infused with the deep roots of her native country, and most importantly, her performances are filled with the genuine, real, authentic expressions which are at the heart of her improvisations. Her voice communicates powerfully and her compositions and arrangements are equally moving." -Thomas J. Manuel, D.M.A.President & Founder, The Jazz Loft, Inc.

SPONSORSHIP

The Jazz Gallery is a not-for-profit arts organization presenting emerging artists who challenge convention, take creative risks, and lead their field as performers, composers and thinkers. We provide a platform for artists to discover their unique voice and a home for established musicians to continue to experiment and grow. At The Jazz Gallery, artists and audiences come together from around the world to explore new creative ideas, collaborate and celebrate jazz as a dynamic art form that reflects our ever-changing world.

We rely on the generosity of our members and community to keep the music playing, thank you for your continued and much appreciated support! If you would like to sponsor a Livestream Concert, please use the links above or be in touch with our Executive Director, Janet Luhrs, here.
