PLANNED GIVING AT THE JAZZ GALLERY

Want to make a difference in the future of jazz?
Making a planned gift to The Jazz Gallery is one of the simplest ways to ensure the future of Jazz and Jazz artists.
Planned gifts can be made in a number of ways, such as:

Wills and Bequests

Making a planned gift is as easy as adding a few short sentences to your will or insurance policy. Think about the size of the bequest, inform your lawyer, complete the necessary paperwork and then tell THE JAZZ GALLERY about your intended gift with a simple letter of intent. Your letter will indicate that you have set aside a portion of your estate or a specific amount from your estate for the benefit of THE JAZZ GALLERY.

If you are currently drawing up a will,  you can use the following sample language:
"I give, devise and bequeath to THE JAZZ GALLERY FEDERAL ID NUMBER 13-3948717 PO BOX 153 LENOX HILL STATION, NEW YORK, NY 10021 the sum of $_______  to be used for its general purposes.”

Gifts of Life Insurance

You can name THE JAZZ GALLERY as primary beneficiary of a life insurance policy that you no longer need. It can be a percentage or a specific amount. You could also be eligible for federal income tax deductions by making an outright gift to The Jazz Gallery.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (IRA)
Please Consider A Gift to The Jazz Gallery from your IRA

Donors who are 70 1/2 or older and have a traditional IRA are eligible to make tax-free contributions to The Jazz Gallery from their IRAs, known as Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD).

One of the key benefits of the direct charitable contribution from your IRA is that the donation counts towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution or RMD (the IRS-determined minimum amount you must withdraw from your account each year). You can contribute more than your RMD to charity as long as you do not exceed $100,000 in a calendar year.

The portion of your RMD that you donate is tax exempt. It also lowers the gross amount of the Required Minimum Distribution on which you are taxed.
